2.1. What is Needed to Evaluate Linux?¶
These components are needed to evaluate Linux on a TI processor:
Hardware
An evaluation module (EVM) and associated cables, power supply, etc
A computer that can write to an SD card (for example, through a USB card writer)
Software
A Linux image to run on the processor
2.1.1. Hardware¶
TI provides support for the AM64x GP EVM and the AM64x Starter Kit.
Note that the TI AM64x EVMs require additional hardware that is not shipped in the box with the EVMs. For a full list of the hardware required for each board, reference the “Hardware Setup” section of the EVM Quick Start Guides:
2.1.2. Software¶
Follow the steps in the “Software Setup” section of the EVM Quick Start Guides to download a Linux image to run on AM64x.
